Nyla Reese is a 17-year-old high school senior and the proud owner of Nylas Petite Bakery. Her story began five years ago during COVID when her mother was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that led her to adopt a vegan diet. Out of love and solidarity, Nyla joined her and began baking vegan treats at home for her mom and sister. What started as a simple hobby soon blossomed into a passion and a business, giving rise to Nylas Petite Bakery.

At just 13 years old, Nyla appeared on a vegan baking show on UnchainedTV and began doing popups across Brooklyn and Harlem while continuing to balance school and her growing business. In February of 2025, she opened her first storefront at 405 W 145th Street, officially launching on March 29th, 2025. Since then, Nylas Petite Bakery has been featured in Amsterdam News and VegNews, collaborated with Oatly, and was highlighted on SecretNYC, gaining over half a million views.
